Board of Stewards

We, the Board of Stewards are the spiritual leaders of the church. We are to be living examples unto God. We are called to be holy. We are one body, many parts. The Body of Christ! We are expected to work together with like minds for the glory of God. We are to love one another as Christ loves each one of us. That means when one of us (Steward) is suffering, we must through our love for each other, care for that individual. We must lift them up, wash their feet, pray for them and assist them so that they be healed and return to the body, strengthened, sanctified and ready to continue working for the Lord.
God’s grace continues to be amazing when we think of how blessed we are in our Church and community. We can see God’s hand on People’s Community Church and we feel a spirit of change in the air. For 50 years, the Lord has been shaping and molding our Church and I believe a tremendous breakthrough is coming. Importantly, we must make the most of our time . . . for it has come!
There is more of a spirit of “let’s work together . . . in the name of Jesus.” We hear the question for many “how can I help?” It is amazing how we are there for each other when there is a time of need. We look back and treasure the past and we excitedly look forward as we build our future here at People’s. It is a time of renewal for us . . . and it feels good.
I am particularly proud of the leaders in our Church. Our leaders are giving selflessly to others. We are honoring God with our finances, our time and our talent. I see our pastor and his ministerial staff, stewards, trustees, club presidents, officers of our auxiliary organizations and other leaders working tirelessly to contribute in meaning ways to our Church. Our model of leadership is that of Jesus—Servanthood. Jesus teaches us in His word that “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28. This sets the example for us . . . to lead is to be in service to others—what an honor!
We are beginning to understand that it is about the agenda of Jesus . . . not our agenda. We can choose to stay focused on God’s divine plan for our lives and our Church—I believe this is the right choice for us. We can choose to continue to follow Jesus and pay attention to His divine purpose for us—I believe this is the right choice. We can choose to continue to love one another as Jesus calls for us to do: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” John 13:34. I believe this is the right choice for us. Let’s stand in agreement that we will honor God by making the right choices in our commitment to Him. Let’s also take full advantage of this being our time and making the absolute most of it!
You are special to Him . . . .
Blessings.
