People's
Community Church
Social Service Ministry
This is Christian Social Service, which recognizes the dignity
and worth of all human beings as God created each person to be. We accept people as they are, without judgment. We seek to
provide support and assistance to people in a loving and caring
manner.
Many members and other in the community seek help from the
Minister and the Church rather than going to social agencies
because of who we are and what we represent. They see the church
as a caring, non-threatening, compassionate source of help in
the time of need. They trust and feel comfortable confiding in
the Minister and in asking for help from the church.
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Minister and the
Consultation with a Social Service Committee, we will bring
together social work skills and community resources to aid
individuals and families in stressful conditions or in crises.
It is nit our aim to provide the direct and specific services of
social agency. The focus of P. C. C. social services will be to
"keep our finger on the pulse" of our members and our community.
We can then know and be sensitive to understanding their needs.
We will then be able to reach out to them in a caring way, when
they want or need help in some aspect of their daily living and
don't know where to turn.
